Daughter of the late musician architect Fortunato Figueiredo, himself a nephew of the late Maestro Antonio Figueiredo (founder of Goa’s Kala Musical Academy).

She grew up in Macau, China, and started her music studies very early under her father. All through her childhood and teenage years, Carolina performed extensively in Macau, Goa, Portugal, and several other parts of the world, with her parents and four brothers and sisters. The family performed as “Figueiredo Family, Musical Group of Macau”, singing and playing folk songs from Portugal and the Portuguese former colonies, mainly Goa, Daman, Macau and Timor.

Later, Carolina studied at the Lisbon Conservatory of Music, and completed her degree in Singing in 2005. She has sung since as a recitalist at baroque and romantic music concerts, and as an oratorio soloist too, in collaboration with several of the best Portuguese orchestras, and regularly sings opera roles as a mezzo-soprano.

She was a member of the Gulbenkian Choir for 15 years and regularly performs with the Choir of the Lisbon Opera House.

Besides being a musician, Carolina also works as a legal translator. She is a Law graduate and holds a post-graduate degree in legal translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists of London.
